Muggle No More__Part Duex
So, as some of you may know, I’ve embarked on an illustrious journey, of great scientific purpose: to enter Pottermore, and then read through all the books as if I’m going through the years with Harry as a classmate.
I’ve completed my admittance to Hogwarts, and the sorting hat [I was really worried that I wouldn’t get in to this house (my roommate still refuses to believe it and says I belong in Slytherin)] placed me in Ravenclaw. I love their colors, and I think it’s a great fit.
I finished both “The Sorcerers Stone” and “The Chamber Of Secrets” in about two days time (give or take because of work and driving and sleeping). I must say, they’re easier to get through now than when I was younger (they were so incredibly boring, I couldn’t get hooked).
Now that you’ve got some context (this’ll be fun for you Potterheads) I’m going to cast some thoughts, as well as predictions (I know some stuff that happens, like couples and a few deaths, but that’s really it. I never saw the movies).
Thought One: I freaking hate that stupid punk Dobby. Everyone keeps telling me that that’ll change, but right now, all he’s done is hurt Potter and complicate things. He could’ve gotten Harry expelled!! Or killed in Quiditch! Seriously, he has been such a pain.
Thought Two: Malfoy is a little punk. I didn’t like him just after his description in the first book at the robe store. I hate even more that he made Seeker because of his dad’s money, and how no one wants to face his dad and straight up lay the smack down.
Thought Three: I love Hagrid. He’s kind and gentle, and an all around good guy. I’m really sad that Tom Riddle got him expelled, but the silver lining is that he got to stay at Hogwarts to be in the story.
Thought Four: I don’t like Gryffindor. (Rhyme. Ha.) It’s not that they’re bad, mostly that they’re mainstream, and they win in the stupidest ways. Harry broke 27485 school rules, but saved us all. Instead of rewarding him personally, let’s just reward the whole house, including useless Longbottom.
Thought Five: I ship Harry and Ginny, since their first meeting on the platform. I also ship Ron and Hermione, even though I never did before reading the books.
Thought Six: I’d totally date a Slytherin. I’d be friends with a ton of them too, as I would find them interesting, and their foolish pride hilarious. I would sit around and call Malfoy “Potters biggest fan” all day long, because that’s all he talks about.
Well, that’s about it for now. I’ll update this occasionally, as I progress through the story. I’ll start “Prisoner Of Azkaban” in a few days. You can check the tag curtisanthonytaylor to see updates. And again, let me know your thoughts. Let’s discuss Snape’s lesson plan, or how stupid Lockhart was, or how much of a boss McGonagal is!
