Ok, so last Monday, I walked in to an H&R Block near my apartment. I figured I would have time to file my taxes, and still have time to get my laundry and studying done before I had to take off to my discipleship group. Well, there was about a three hour wait, so I decided to leave and come back with an appointment for that Wednesday.
So I almost slept in that Wednesday, but I got up and there on time. It took longer than I wanted to finally get seated, but I was still in a good mood. I followed the tax guy back to his little cubicle, and we start talking. Filing my taxes would be easy because I have one form to submit. The guy asks where I work, and so I tell him Shepherd Of The Hills Church.
His eyes light up. “Oh yeah? That’s pretty cool. You know, as my other job, I’m a professor at Eternity Bible College!”
Whut. Well, this should be a fun session then. Throughout the whole time, he made the process so simple. It ended up that because I’m so young and make so little, I get almost everything I paid back. And then some. Just so happens, I get the exact amount back that I needed in order to pay off my motorcycle, and tithe for the return.
Oh, did I forget to mention that his wife is the registrar over at EBC? Yeah. About this whole thing. So, in the end, we ended up talking and filing for about 45 mins. And it looks like, since God really wants me teaching and preaching more this year, I will probably be attending in the fall.
This bible college is cheap, because they’re whole mission is to equip saints and not burden them with student loans. Over 4 years, I will only pay about 20,000 if I was going full time. Which is the average yearly tuition for cheap bible colleges.
Needless to say, when there’s a delay, its because God has a better way.
